CALL FOR PAPERS: Health Policy and Access
The Knee Regulatory Research Center joins the Institute for Humane Studies to host a special opportunity for health policy and access research!
Special Issue and Workshop opportunity. Call for Papers in Health Policy and Access through the Knee Regulatory Research Center and the Institute for Humane Studies.
Health policy continues to be at the center of national and state-level discussions, with regulatory frameworks playing a critical role in shaping access, affordability, and outcomes. As states grapple with the evolving healthcare landscape, it is crucial to examine policies that influence workforce dynamics, service accessibility, and patient well-being.
This call for papers invites research that explores timely and impactful health policy questions, particularly those relevant to ongoing legislative and regulatory discussions across the country.
- Interstate Licensing & Workforce Mobility – Is there any additional benefit to professional compacts that cannot be solved by universal licensing recognition
- Non-Physician Providers & Access – Does increasing healthcare access through wider availability of nurse practitioners, physician assistants, midwives, and doulas improve community wellness and longevity?
- Economic Impact of Expanded Prescribing Authority – Pharmacists prescribing medications like insulin and inhalers increases access, but what is the economic impact ? How many families avoid medical bankruptcy ? How much do expanded prescribing authority save individuals and state healthcare systems?
- Maternal & Infant Health in Rural Areas – How does removing restrictions on midwives and doulas affect maternal and infant health outcomes in underserved regions?
- Reimbursement Models – How should non-physician providers be reimbursed in an evolving healthcare market?
- Telehealth & Broadband Access – What is the relationship between broadband expansion and telehealth adoption ? Which state or federal regulations present barriers?
