Dr. Elisha Denkyirah
Dr. Elisha Denkyirah is a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Knee Regulatory Research Center and the Center for Free Enterprise at West Virginia University.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science with a concentration in Agribusiness, followed by a Master of Philosophy in Agribusiness, from the University of Ghana. He then obtained a Master of Science in International Agribusiness and a Graduate Certificate in New Institutional Social Sciences from North Dakota State University. He most recently completed his Ph.D. in Agricultural and Applied Economics from Texas Tech University, where he also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Free Market Institute.
Dr. Denkyirah's research spans topics in health economics, public health policy, international trade, economic development, and agribusiness. His latest research further explores the opioid crisis, regulatory responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, the African Growth and Opportunity Act, and economic policies, such as carbon tax.
He has published in a variety of journals, such as the Southern Economic Journal, Independent Review, American Review of Canadian Studies, and Journal of Private Enterprise. His publications examine wide-ranging topics including willingness to pay for crop insurance, climate change adaptation strategies, pesticide usage and frequency of application, food safety, environmental pollution, foreign aid, women empowerment, education, economic growth, and health policy.
